Taking first place in Miami's Appleton Estate Reserve Remixology, Michael Parrish tied his culinary expertise into his mixology skills and created the "Banana's Foster Flip" inspired by the Guns & Roses classic "Welcome to the Jungle" while dressed as Axl Rose. For his second cocktail inspired by "Miami Vice," Michael created the "Crocket and Tubbs" - a play on a Pain in the Ass, half pina colada and half rum runner. Michael will compete in the Appleton Estate Reserve Remixology Finals in New York on September 19.

Rum Raisin Root Beer Float aka Only Built for Cuban Drinx

Adam DelGiudice

Song: Ice Cream by Raekwon ft. Ghostface Killah, Method Man and Cappadonna

Song choice rationale:
I'm a fan of taking iconic and personally relevant flavors and crafting cocktails around them. As an early adolescent I was and still am heavily influenced by hip hop culture and the legendary Wu-Tang Clan was by far my favorite and the most influential force in hip hop at that time. I remember summer time heat waves I would always have Root Beer Floats from the ice cream spot to keep cool. Rum Raisin was my flavor of choice perhaps some foreshadowing for my future love of Rum. The song Ice Cream by WuTang member Raekwon came out in the summer of '95 and was a huge hit and summer time anthem and one of my all time favorite songs to this day, so this cocktail is an homage to the summers of my adolescence and set to the iconic song of that period of time in my life. Also its clear from the lyrics that the song and idea behind Ice Cream is a metaphor for sex, which also ties into this drink through the use of sarsaparilla root, which while being the basis for Root Beer is also an aphrodisiac.

Recipe:
1 oz. Appleton Estate Reserve
1 oz Appleton 12 infused with Jamaican Sarsaparilla
.5 oz fresh sour (lemon lime combo)
.75 oz cream
.75 oz Raisin Syrup

Add an egg white top with Cream Soda, atomizer spritz Angostura Bitters through a stencil with the Wu Tang Clan logo so that the iconic insignia sits on top of the drink as garnish.

Sea Foam

Richie Petronzi

Song: Surf Song by Jack Johnson

Song choice rationale:
The song encapsulates an average night out watching the in and outs of watching our patrons through the eyes of a service industry professional. The trials and tribulations of the sites we see as Bartenders. The cocktail is pulling away from the nighttime bar scene and bringing you to the beach where we all belong breathing fresh salt air, Hence "Surf Song".

Recipe:
2 oz. Appleton Estate Reserve
1 oz homemade herbal, tropical infusion(Wray & Nephew)
1 oz Lime
1 oz Cane Syrup
1 oz Banana Puree
.75 oz Heavy Cream Club Soda Method

Add all ingredients except Club Soda to mixing glass. Shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds. Strain, into a chilled Highball and top with club soda. Garnish with toasted coconut.

The Bon Scott

Ben Clemons

Song: Have A Drink On Me by ACDC

Song choice rationale:
First off, this song is bad ass. It is high energy and the lyrical content is extremely appropriate. I chose my cocktail by using the band name as an acronym. A=appletons, C=carpano, D=Dollin Dry, C= calpico [japanese non carbonated soft drink made from powdered dairy and citrus]. The drink name pays homage to Bon Scott, the legendary singer who passed away before the making of the album upon which you will find "Have A Drink On Me".

Recipe:
2 oz. Appleton Estate Reserve
1.5 oz. Calpico [Original]
.5 oz. Carpano Antica Formula
.5 oz Dollin Dry Vermouth

Shake all ingredients and strain into chilled coupe glass. Garnish with an orange twist and freshly grated nutmeg.

The Rockaway Daqueri

John Lermayer

Song: Rockaway by Beres Hammond

Song choice rationale:
To me reggae must a must for this, because when I think Appleton, I think Jamaica and when I think Jamaica, I think Reggae Music. Beres Hammond is one of the great voices of Jamaican Music. In this track, Rockaway Beres sings about a time in his life when nothing mattered more than music and dancing with people you loved. This song brings me back to a time in my life when i felt the same. It reminds me of summers spent throwing reggae parties, drinking cold beer on the beach, surfing and BBQ's. A time in my life that was without worries. It brings me back...and it makes me smile.

Recipe:
2 oz. Appleton Estate Reserve
.5 Lemon Juice
.5 Maple Syrup
.5 Liquor 43
2 oz Pineapple Juice
5 Dashes Angostura Bitters
Grated Nutmeg
